Laura Smeigeilski Garcia and Margaret Herrera of Marketing Solutions are the speakers for our upcoming Lunch and Learn on June 14, when they will explain how we can become an “Internet Jungle Hero” and learn proven marketing solutions to battle the internet jungle.

In the article, Laura Smigielski Garcia of Marketing Solutions says the recession prompted her company to focus more on targeted media and events that provide customer contact, like a special event with champagne for the unveiling of a new car model.

“We’re doing a lot more with targeted media,” she says. “We’re also doing more things with customer contact, rather than mass media.” (Read the article)

JAVA TALK

If it isn’t FaceBook, it’s Twitter, Google+ or Pinterest. Keeping track of the new media spectrum is about as maddening as trying to decide who has credibility in the respective marketplaces. Klout is one tool that can be used, but how do you develop a strategy that really helps your organization connect with its audience?

Tom Garrity of The Garrity Group will help us weed through this quagmire of social media credibility. Professionals who are interested in social media strategy and affecting change through new media in New Mexico should plan to attend.

In this interactive session, Tom will show you how to:

• Identify and build new media credibility
• Integrate social media as a part of a larger marketing outreach
• Identify what parts of New Mexico are more “connected” to new media
