Practically a native to New Mexico, Steve Christman moved from Chicago to Albuquerque in 1976. He has been hooked on photography ever since his mother gave him a camera to use on a trip, and he saw the interesting photos from the lab. He was eager to soak up everything he could about photography — he read everything he could get his hands on and was mentored by friends in the field.

Steve has attended photography courses, workshops and lectures by world renowned photographers such as Jerry Uelsmann, Galen Rowell and David Muench.

Steve’s work was published in the prestigious Photographer’s Forum Annual, Best of 2000 and Best of 2003. His work has received many acclaimed awards and has achieved some notoriety at the New Mexico State Fair, the New Mexico Field Guide to the Sandias, and other venues.

His work has been displayed in such places as Around the Corner Gallery, OK Harris Gallery, and Kokopelli’s Restaurant.

While Steve’s enthusiasm remains with the beauty and natural wonder of the outdoors, he has branched out into commercial work, portraits and weddings, as well as teaching outdoor workshops.
