Del Esparza, CEO, left center, with Creative Director Adam Greenwood, Esparza Advertising, accepts the big prize, the Golden Compass for “Best of” Marketer of the Year for their NM AIDS Walk campaign. Esparza Advertising also earned a Compass in Interactive Media and in Special Event Marketing, as well as an Award of Merit in Integrated Marketing for their campaign for New Mexico AIDS Services.

Joanie Griffin accepted the Recognition of Excellence Accolade, presented by last year’s winner, John Benavidez. Joanie’s company, Griffin & Associates, also earned a Compass in Television Advertising for their New Mexico Clean & Beautiful campaign, and an Award of Merit in Integrated Marketing for the Town of Taos campaign.

With first-ever student categories, Anderson School students earn the Compass for the FBI Campaign, cheered on by Dean Douglas Brown.

There was time to network and celebrate the occasion before the ceremony.

There was also time to review the outstanding work of all the entrants. Joe Lobato, Executive Director for New Mexico Clean and Beautiful, with wife Angela, check out the Toss no Mas television spot by Griffin & Associates, which went on to earn the Compass.

Sam Maclay, Creative Director/Partner of 3 Advertising accepts the Compass in Integrated Marketing for their National Museum of Nuclear Science and History campaign.

Martha Mondragon-Guerin, Account Executive for Adelante Direct Mail, accepts the Compass in Direct Marketing for Adelante Services.

The charming duo in many of the pictures are Jim and John Garcia of Hospitotally, our capable Masters of Ceremony for the evening.
